HOW TO TRIM THE WICK OF YOUR CANDLE

Prior to lighting, always trim the wick to 6mm.

Whilst your Candle is burning, ‘mushrooming’ at the end of the wick is normal. Wick ‘mushrooming’ must be removed by wick trimming prior to every burn and periodically during the burn if it becomes excessive. This ensures the cleanest burn possible.

Wick mushrooming is the major cause of wick debris falling into the wax pool and becoming a fire hazard as the candle burns down.

Remove any wick debris that may have fallen onto the candle surface.

Failure to trimming the wick can contribute to smoke emissions which may stain the surrounding area.

HOW TO USE A SNUFFER

Simply hover the snuffer directly above the flame and wait until fully extinguished.

Using a snuffer to extinguish your Candle can also help prevent wicks from drifting off centre to ensure your candles last longer.

CANDLE MEMORY AND BURN TIMES

To get the maximum burn time from your candles, in particular pillar and container candles, you need to set the candle memory.

To set the candle memory, burn the candle for one hour for every 2.5cm of its diameter the first time the candle is lit.

This will allow the pool of wax to extend to the outer rim. Each time the candle is lit after setting the memory, the candle will burn to this rim.

Never burn a candle for longer than three hours at a time.

Over burning a candle can cause excessive heat build-up and excessive wick ‘mushrooming’.

Don’t burn candles completely.

Discard when candle wax is 1cm from the bottom.

HOW TO STORE YOUR CANDLES

When not in use, store your candles by sealing with their lid or wrapping before placing them upright in a cool, dry location, away from direct sunlight, dust, and incandescent lights.
